Custom chat themes

Design a theme in the app, or write a theme file and paste it in.

Make a theme in the app

  1. Open Settings › Chat Themes.
  2. Tap + to start a new theme, or long-press a theme and choose Duplicate to start from one you like.
  3. Pick each color under Chat Area, Top Bar and Input Area, then tap Save.
  4. Tap the theme to use it in every chat. Launchers and single chats can use their own theme too.

The app comes with 11 themes: Default Light, Default Dark, Sepia, Midnight, Warm, Slate, Gothic, Black Moon Rises, Dracula, Retro Terminal, Dark Forest. For backgrounds, light and dark mode, and chat appearance, see Themes and appearance.

Share and import theme files

  1. To share a theme, long-press it in Settings › Chat Themes and choose Export. You get a small JSON file.
  2. To add a theme someone shared, copy the whole file's text, open Settings › Chat Themes, tap Import from Paste, and tap Import.

Try one: Crimson Frost

A dark theme in the site's colors. Its chat background is transparent, so a chat background picture, such as the character's portrait, shows through. Download crimson-frost.json, or copy it from here:

The theme file

A theme file is JSON with a name and these 18 colors. Every key is required. The labels are the ones you see in the app's theme editor.

Colors are hex: #RGB, #RRGGBB, or #RRGGBBAA with transparency last. 00 is fully transparent and FF is solid, so #7A0E0A80 is Arcane Red at half strength.
